Will my cat actually use it?
Most do — cardboard is the surface cats choose on their own. Put it where they already scratch and rub in a pinch of catnip.
Does it make a mess?
Far less than cheap scratchers: the dense board and wooden facade keep flakes inside. A few crumbs the first week, then almost nothing.
Is it safe for kittens and older cats?
Yes — cardboard, wood and water-based glue, nothing else. It gives under the claw, so no split claws, and the low curve is easy to climb.
What does the 12-month guarantee cover?
Structural failure under normal use — layers coming apart, facade detaching, the body collapsing. Scratch marks and worn cardboard are normal use, not a fault: flip it over.
