Will my cat actually use it?
Most cats are drawn to it on their own — think how they love delivery boxes. Put it where they already scratch and add a pinch of catnip.
Does it make a mess?
Far less than cheap scratchers: dense 5-layer board, wooden sides. A few crumbs the first week, then almost none.
How long does it last?
