Cat Scratcher Houses

A cat scratcher house gives a cat what a box gives — somewhere to hide and watch from — plus a deck on top to scratch, stretch and sleep on. Ours are cardboard cat houses made from dense 5-layer corrugated board with a real wood facade: the tunnel underneath is the den, the top is the scratcher and the lookout. Six sizes from 68 to 85 cm, in brown, white or black, handmade in England in our own workshop in Peterborough.

Why cats love a cat house with a scratcher

Cats feel safest with cover around them and a view out. Shy cats hide in the tunnel, confident ones sleep on the roof — and in a two-cat home each gets a level of their own, which means fewer squabbles. Cardboard is warm, quiet and the texture cats choose for their claws. More in our guide: cat scratcher houses — why cats love a two-level one.

Which cat scratcher house?

  • Pavilion (68 × 29 × 20 cm) — the smallest hideaway, low and easy for small and older cats.
  • Terrace (77 × 29 × 21 cm) — long and low: a bed on top, a tunnel below.
  • Mews (76 × 29 × 27 cm) — the two-level house most families choose: one cat up, one below.
  • Rotunda (85 × 29 × 30 cm) — the widest ring we make, with a long tunnel underneath. New, on pre-order.
  • Manor (85 × 29 × 38 cm) — the XL two-level house, with a hideaway big enough for a Maine Coon to sleep in. New, on pre-order.
  • Penthouse (85 × 29 × 39 cm) — the biggest and heaviest: a flat XL bed on top and a cat-sized cave inside.

Ready to use, built to last

Every house arrives assembled — nothing to build — with two scratchable faces on the deck: flip it when one wears. Water-based glue, zero plastic. Free tracked UK delivery, 30-day returns and a 12-month guarantee. For the biggest breeds, see large cat scratchers; for open loungers, see cat scratcher beds.

Cat scratcher house FAQ

Is a cardboard cat house strong enough for a big cat?
Yes. The houses are solid blocks of dense 5-layer board; Mews, Manor and Penthouse are made for two cats or one very large cat, and the 12-month guarantee covers structural failure under the weight of the cats each model is made for.

Is it a cat cave or a scratcher?
Both: the tunnel is a cardboard cat cave to hide and sleep in, and the deck on top is the scratcher — one piece of furniture instead of two.

Will my cat use the tunnel?
Most cats explore it on the first day, shy cats and kittens especially. A pinch of catnip inside helps — and if your cat ignores the whole thing, our 14-day money-back guarantee covers it.

Does it need assembling?
No — every house arrives assembled. Take it out of the box and put it down.
